Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri News24 –

During the night of May 7 and 8, the Pakistani army repeatedly breached Indian airspace across the western border in an attempt to strike military installations. In addition, it launched heavy-calibre weapon attacks along the Line of Control. An estimated 300 to 400 drones were deployed in infiltration attempts at 36 different sites.

On Pakistan targeting schools and religious places along the LOC, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri says, “During heavy shelling across the LOC in the early morning of 7 May, a shell fired from Pakistan landed just behind the Christ School in Poonch.”

Misri Further mentioned, “The shell hit the home of two students of the school, who unfortunately lost their lives and their parents sustained injuries… Several school staff and locals took refuge in an underground hall of the school during the shelling by Pakistan.”

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated, “The school was fortunately closed, otherwise more losses would have occurred. Pakistan is targeting and shelling places of worship with a particular design, including gurdwaras, churches and temples. This is a new low even for Pakistan.”

According to Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, Pakistan breached Indian airspace using Turkish-manufactured Asisguard Songar drones. She stated that the drones were deployed as part of a larger military initiative known as Operation Sindoor. This development follows the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, adding to the rising tensions between the two countries.
