Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Friday informed about the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. He said both sides would stop all firing and military action on land and in the air and sea with effect from 1700 hours Indian Standard Time.
EAM Dr. S Jaishankar wrote on his X handle that, “India and Pakistan have today worked out an understanding on stoppage of firing and military action.”

Earlier on Saturday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that India and Pakistan had agreed to implement a full and immediate ceasefire. This announcement followed India’s launch of ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 7, carried out in retaliation for the terror attack in Pahalgam. As part of the operation, India struck nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
