First Phase Ready, Full Launch Expected By July News24 –

There are several Expressway projects which will be a game changer project for the country. One such expressway is the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is highly anticipated by travellers heading to Dehradun and Saharanpur, as well as by the thousands who commute daily from Delhi to the Uttar Pradesh border. A recent update has provided new information about its expected opening and the work that still needs to be completed.

As per Ministry of Road Transport, the 212 km Greenfield Expressway is currently under construction. The Ministry of Road Transport has confirmed that work is in progress on the 212-km Delhi–Dehradun Greenfield Access-Controlled Expressway which stretches from Akshardham in Delhi, through Khekra, Shamli and Saharanpur to Dehradun. From Akshardham to the Khekra crossing at the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, the 31.6 km have been developed and are now finished. NHAI has run test drives and is getting ready to make the highway available to the public.

After the highway is complete, making the trip between Delhi and the Uttar Pradesh border will become a lot faster, taking you only 15 minutes. The first section of the 18-km elevated portion from Akshardham will take commuters on the new Delhi–Dehradun Access-Controlled Expressway to Loni Border. 13 extra kilometers of the line have now been built alongside the ground. A service road with the same 6 lanes is being built beside the highway as well. Being on an elevated section all the way to Khekra, the highway will support and ease life for residents there.

Mohammed Saifi, the Regional Officer for NHAI’s Delhi Region, announced that the elevated road leading to the UP border has been fully constructed. Testing has been completed, and the final report is anticipated within the next 15 days. The expressway is expected to open by the end of June or early July.
