Elevated Road Planned From Greater Noida West’s Ek Murti To NH-9 News24 –

A plan has been prepared to build a four-kilometer-long elevated road via Shahberi and Crossing Republic to connect the Delhi-Meerut Expressway and National Highway-9 from Ek Murti Chowk in Greater Noida West. This new route will provide smooth access to NH-9 and strengthen traffic links between Greater Noida, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Delhi. At present, the section from Ek Murti Chowk to NH-9 is facing heavy traffic pressure, while many residential societies are also present on this route.

With the Noida International Airport likely to start by the end of the year, there is a possibility of a further increase in traffic in this area in the coming time. Keeping this in mind, this elevated road project has been prepared. In March, the Greater Noida Authority Board approved this project costing Rs 400 crore. The National Highway Authority (NHAI) has been contacted for its construction, and the budget has also been approved to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR). It may take 4 to 5 months to prepare the report.

According to the plan, this six-lane elevated road will start from a 130-meter-wide road and cross Murti Chowk, Shahberi, and Crossing Republic, and reach NH-9 and Delhi-Meerut Expressway. The population of this area is estimated to reach 15 to 20 lakh in the next 10 years.

This project has been given the status of ‘Regional Connectivity Road’. For this, financial cooperation has been planned between Greater Noida, Noida, and Yamuna Authority. However, sources say that since this project comes under the Greater Noida Authority, Noida and Yamuna Authority may hesitate about funding. This elevated road is one of the many connectivity projects that are being built, keeping in mind the increased traffic after the start of the Noida Airport. These also include schemes like the Noida Expressway Bypass and the Chilla Elevated Road.
