The Uttar Pradesh government has planned to build the Chitrakoot Link Expressway, which will cost an estimated Rs 514 crore. The project aims to connect Chitrakoot to the Bundelkhand Expressway with a better road. According to a press note issued on Saturday, the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has prepared its map, and its construction work is expected to start from the month of July.
This greenfield project will be a total of 15.175 km long and is planned to be completed in 18 months. Initially, this expressway will be four lanes, which is likely to be expanded to six lanes in the future, says UPEIDA.
According to the authority, this expressway has been designed in such a way that vehicles can easily run on it at a speed of 120 kmph. The width of the main road will be 40 meters, and at many places it will be connected to a 3.75-meter-wide service road. Apart from this, a 200-meter-long and seven-meter-wide service road will also be built near the bridges. The project will include facilities such as the construction of a main road, a modern drainage system, lights on 10-metre high poles, 30-metre high mast lights on approach roads, and clear lane markings. UPEIDA also informed that the process of preparing the master plan and detailed project report (DPR) will start in July.
