Uttar Pradesh: A shocking incident unfolded in Gorakhpur’s Sahjanwa area on Wednesday morning, where a man allegedly killed his wife and later went to the Sahjanwa police station to surrender. According to reports, he murdered her over suspicion of an extramarital affair. The accused, identified as Angad Sharma, reportedly slit his wife’s throat at their apartment, located in Bahilpar village.
After killing her, he even sat beside the body for about an hour before surrendering to the police. NDTV quoted accused Sharma as telling officers, “I have killed my wife. Her body is at home.” Following the shocking revelation, a police team reached the spot and found the victim’s body lying on the bed, covered with blood. A forensic team also arrived at the spot to collect evidence.
Meanwhile, a complaint has been lodged with the police by the victim’s family. According to Superintendent of Police (North) Jitendra Kumar Srivastava, the accused has been booked and her body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Reports added that the couple had a love marriage against their families two years ago.
After tying the knot at a temple, they moved to Karnataka but later returned to Gorakhpur.
