Monsoon Mayhem To Continue In Northeast India; Heavy Rain, Strong Winds To Impact Multiple States News24 –
IMD Weather LIVE Updates: As monsoon brings significant weather changes across various regions in the country, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in the coming days. As per a detailed forecast, most places over northeast India will continue to receive light showers during the next 7 days, with isolated heavy rainfall expected today, June 5 2025.
Additionally, IMD has warned against intense downpour over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 7 days. Commuters and residents must therefore plan their travel accordingly, as there might be a possibility of waterlogging in several areas. The other affected places include Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, during 5th-8th June; Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, on 5th June; Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, and Interior Karnataka from 5th to 8th June.
Regarding the Southwest Monsoon, the IMD said, “The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through 17.0°N/55°E, 17.5°N/60°E, 18°N/65°E, 18.5°N/70°E, Mumbai, Ahilyanagar, Adilabad, Bhawanipatna, Puri, Sandhead Island, 23.5°N/89.5°E, Balurghat, 30°N/85°E.” Meanwhile, West Rajasthan can expect dust-raising winds from 7th to 9th June. Hot and humid weather, on the other hand, is likely to prevail over Odisha during the 5th and 6th, and over West Rajasthan during 7th-9th June.
