Extreme Heat To Scorch Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab Till June 13; Torrential Rains Lash Northeast News24 –
IMD Weather LIVE Updates: With no respite from the heat in sight, the temperatures across several states have exceeded the 40 degrees Celsius mark. In most parts of Delhi/NCR, the mercury hit above 43°C. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted extreme temperatures over West Rajasthan from June 10 to 13.
Residents must brace themselves as heat wave conditions are also likely to prevail over Jammu-Kashmir during June 10th-12th; Punjab during 10th-13th; Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi & West Uttar Pradesh during 10th-12th; East Uttar Pradesh on 10th; East Rajasthan & north Madhya Pradesh during 10th-11th June. On the other hand, multiple Northeast regions, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, continue to experience waterlogging due to heavy rain.
IMD has forecasted intense downpours to continue in these areas during this week. In Uttarakhand as well, torrential rains are expected to halt daily activities till 15th June. The Weather Body has indicated the likelihood of thunderstorms and rain over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 11th & 12th; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on 12th, 14th & 15th; Odisha on 10, 14th & 15th June.
