Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder Case Live Updates: A lot of developments can be seen in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, with shocking revelations and arrests. The investigation has taken a turn with the arrest of Raja’s wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi (who was earlier missing) identified as the prime accused. Along with her, four others, Raj Kushwaha, Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Anand Kurmi have also been taken into custody. The arrests were made across Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, and the accused have been placed in transit custody.
Sonam was apprehended early Monday morning at a dhaba in Uttar Pradesh. Of the four male suspects, three were arrested in Madhya Pradesh, while Akash Rajput was caught in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. All five accused were presented before a district court on Monday and Tuesday, after which they were placed in transit custody.
Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong stated on Tuesday that some of the suspects have confessed to their involvement in the crime. Authorities plan to transfer all five to Shillong either by tonight or tomorrow.
Sonam Raghuvanshi, 24, has been identified as the main accused in the case. She was located near a dhaba along the Varanasi-Ghazipur road on Monday. Following her arrest, she was taken to Sadar Hospital for preliminary medical care and later shifted to the Sakhi One Stop Centre.
Reacting to the incident on Tuesday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed deep grief over the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, a newlywed from Indore who was allegedly killed during his honeymoon in Meghalaya. Reports suggest the murder was carried out by contract killers allegedly hired by his wife.
