Gautam Adani Expresses Grief, Pledges Full Support To Victims’ Families News24 –


An Air India plane crashed near Meghani Nagar area near Ahmedabad Airport on Thursday, around 2 pm. According to reports, the plane was believed to be en route to London. The passenger plane had 242 people on board.

Thick black smoke was seen rising from the accident site, which could be seen from a long distance. Emergency teams and fire brigade have reached the spot, and relief and rescue work is currently underway.

A statement released by SVPIA Spokesperson mentions, “Flight AI 171 from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, earlier today, was involved in a crash shortly after takeoff, outside the airport. As a result, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, is currently not operational. All flight operations are temporarily suspended until further notice. Passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines for the latest updates before proceeding to the airport. We request your cooperation and patience as authorities manage this evolving situation. Further updates will be provided as soon as available”.

Deeply saddened and shocked by the tragedy, Adani Group Chairman, Gautam Adani wrote on his X handle: “We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragedy of Air India Flight 171. Our hearts go out to the families who have suffered an unimaginable loss. We are working closely with all authorities and extending full support to the families on the ground.”
