Shocking details continue to emerge in the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case. Police intensified their ongoing investigations following Raja Raghuvansi’s death. Meanwhile, interrogation of the five accused in the case, including Sonam Raghuvanshi, revealed that Raja was killed in the fourth attempt after three previously failed murder plots.

‘Burned Body, River Plot’: Killers’ Failed Attempts

Sonam Raghuvanshi’s plan with her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha revealed a sinister conspiracy that started in February. It has been learnt that the killers thought of several ways to make Sonam disappear before her marriage to Raja. The first plan was to make people believe that she had been washed away in a river. The second horrific plan was to murder a woman, put her body in Sonam’s vehicle, burn it, and then claim she died. Raja could have been alive if the killers’ succeeded in their plot to fake Sonam’s death.

Back Up Plans To Murder Raja

According to SP Vivek Syiem, the first attempt to kill Raja was made in Guwahati. The plan was also to get rid of his body at different locations. On May 19, the accused reached Guwahati, ahead of the couple’s visit to the Kamakhya temple in Assam. However, the plan was abandoned by the conspirators after Sonam planned to go to Shillong and Sohra instead. This was followed by two unsuccessful attempts, following which the killers finally succeeded at Weisawdong Falls in Meghalaya.
