Haryana Plans New Road To Link Delhi-Gurugram Expressway With 1,000-Acre Global City Project In THIS Sector News24 –

The Haryana government is planning to construct a new road to connect the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway with the Global City project being developed on Pataudi Road in Sector 36 of Gurugram, officials confirmed on Friday.

According to a senior official of the Gurugram Metropolitan Region Development Authority (GMDA), a 60-metre-wide road has been proposed parallel to the recently constructed drain in Narsinghpur, which will connect the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway with the Global City. The project will also have direct access from Pataudi Road and Dwarka Expressway.

Hindustan Times quoted a GMDA official saying, “The land required for the road falls in Khandsa and Mohammadpur Jharsa villages — some of it privately owned and under litigation, and some of it is owned by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC). The Global City project is a high-priority project of the Haryana government,t and giving it access through the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway will further improve access to this residential and commercial project.”

The Global City is being developed by HSIIDC over an area of over 1,000 acres spread across Sectors 36, 36B, 37 and 37B of Gurugram. It is a mixed-use project that will have around 12 million sq m of built-up area. The project will include commercial and residential towers as well as offices, retail shops, hospitals, schools, innovation and startup hubs, incubation centres, hotels, cultural venues, exhibition and convention centres, green areas and water reservoirs.

The road project will be discussed in detail next week, which will be chaired by DS Dhesi, Principal Advisor for Urban Development. This will be the first meeting of the district coordination committee, where other local development projects will also be on the agenda for discussion.

The proposed 60-metre wide road will be built along the Narsinghpur kutcha nala, which was built to connect the lower part of the area to the Badshahpur drain.

According to officials, the first phase of the Global City project is being developed on 587 acres of land, on which trunk infrastructure is being created. This phase will include the construction of 13 km long internal roads, green landscape in an 82-acre area, 26 km rain water drainage system, 11.96 km potable water pipeline, 12 km recycled water pipeline, and 10 km utility tunnel. The work of this phase is expected to be completed by December 2026.
