Helicopter Going To Kedarnath Crashes Near Gaurikund, 5 Dead News24 –


Uttarakhand Helicopter Crash: The helicopter that went missing in Gaurikund has crashed, stated the Uttarakhand ADG Law and Order, Dr V Murugeshan on Sunday. There were six people on board the crashed helicopter. All of them have been feared dead. Earlier around 7:44 am, it was reported that a helicopter going from Dehradun to Kedarnath had gone missing in Gaurikund.  According to ADG Murugeshan, the helicopter went missing between Trijuginarayan and Gaurikund.

It is being told that the helicopter carrying devotees en route to Kedarnath crashed due to bad weather. The helicopter had taken off at 5 AM with seven people onboard, including the pilot. Five casualties have been reported so far.

IG Garhwal Rajiv Swaroop said, “The helicopter that crashed had taken off for Gaurikund after taking devotees to Kedarnath. There were seven people on board. The place where this accident took place is a very remote area. Police and SDRF teams have left for the spot.”

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has reacted to the tragic incident and prayed for safety of all the travellers. He informed that SDRF, local administration and other rescue teams are currently engaged in relief and rescue operations.

“Very sad news has been received about a helicopter crash in Rudraprayag district. SDRF, local administration and other rescue teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations. I pray to Baba Kedar for the safety of all the travellers,” wrote CM Dhami on X.
