MEA Confirms Relocation Of Indian Students In Iran, Additional Safety Measures Under Consideration News24 –
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Sunday asserted that the Indian Embassy in Tehran is actively monitoring the security situation amid rising regional tensions. It stated that the embassy is in regular contact with Indian students to ensure their safety. In some cases, students are being relocated by the Embassy to safer areas within Iran, stated the MEA. Notably, the conflict between Iran and Israel has escalated, with series of strikes from both sides entering the third day on Sunday. In such alarming situation, the Indian government is monitoring the entire situation and has alerted the nationals residing there.
Apart from this, additional measures are under consideration, and Embassy officials are also coordinating with community leaders to safeguard the welfare of Indian nationals.
The statement by MEA read as: “The Indian Embassy in Tehran is continuously monitoring the security situation and engaging Indian students in Iran to ensure their safety. In some cases, students are being relocated with the Embassy’s facilitation to safer places within Iran. Other feasible options are also under examination. Separately, the Embassy is in touch with community leaders regarding welfare and safety.”

Indian Embassy In Israel Issues Advisory
Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Israel on Sunday issued an advisory for the members of the Indian community amid the tensions.
In a post on X, the Embassy said, “The Embassy of India in Tel Aviv is in touch with members of the Indian community in Israel, including caregivers, workers, students, businessmen and tourist groups. All necessary measures are being taken to ensure their safety and well-being.”
It added, “Embassy continues to monitor the situation closely and is in regular touch with the Israeli authorities.”
“As you know, National Emergency announced by the Govt. of Israel is in place. Airspace is closed. All Indian nationals are once again advised to stay vigilant, strictly avoid any unnecessary movement and adhere to the safety protocols as advised by the Israeli authorities and home front command (https://oref.org.il/eng),” the post further added.
Earlier on Friday, June 13, the day Israel attacked Iran, the Indian embassies in both countries had issued advisories for its nationals. The nationals were asked to remain vigilant, avoid all unnecessary movements, follow the Embassy’s Social Media accounts and observe safety protocols as advised by local authorities.
