YEIDA Finalizes Land Rates For 55 Bulandshahr Villages To Boost Industrial Hub Around Noida Airport News24 –

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Tuesday informed that it has fixed rates for buying agricultural land from farmers of 55 villages in Bulandshahr. This land will be taken for the development of industrial area around Noida Airport.

About five months ago, the authority had constituted a committee headed by Shailendra Bhatia, which submitted its report to CEO Arun Vir Singh on Tuesday. The rates for the land purchase process have been finalized in the report, as the land is needed immediately.

Hindustan Times quoted YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh saying, “We will put the committee’s recommendations on the board so that we can offer better rates to them and buy the land required for the infrastructure and industrial development in this region. The committee has fixed the rates in view of the rates offered by neighbouring Gautam Budh Nagar district. And since we’ve notified these 55 villages of the Bulandshahr for the planned district, we decided to offer a better rate. Once the board gives its official nod, the authority will start buying the land from farmers.”

The committee included other officials including Additional CEO Kapil Singh. According to the committee, if a farmer wants to take 7% of the acquired land as a residential plot, he will be paid at the rate of Rs 3,800 per square meter. If the farmer does not want to take the plot, he will be given a rate of Rs 4,300 per square meter.

These rates have been fixed on the demand of the farmers, because in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, farmers are getting compensation at the rate of Rs 4,300 per square meter for airport and other projects.

These rates will be given to the farmers of 55 villages of Bulandshahr district which were notified by YEIDA for planned development on June 23, 2023.

The authority has marked the land of these areas because illegal colonies are being built at some places. YEIDA wants to stop these illegal development activities and is planning to purchase land directly from the farmers.

In June 2023, YEIDA had announced that it wants to develop two new expressways and a rail link from Chola railway station in Bulandshahr to the Noida International Greenfield Airport being built in Jewar. Under this scheme, steps have been taken towards land acquisition by fixing land rates.
