A mob brutally assaulted two men over the alleged smuggling of cows in Madhya Pradesh’s Mehgaon area in Raisen district. One man was beaten to death, while the other was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. The incident reportedly took place on June 5.
Both men were brutally thrashed
According to NDTV, the men were transporting six to ten cows late at night when they were intercepted by a group of people. The individuals in the group claimed to be members of a cow protection outfit and brutally thrashed the two men on the spot.
Victims were admitted to Hamidia Hospital
A viral video showed the vigilantes severely beating them. Later, the men were admitted to Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal with the help of the police.
One of the victims, identified as Junaid, had been on a ventilator for the past two weeks. He died on the morning of June 17.

Following the incident, police announced a Rs 25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of main accused Sunil Gupta and his associate, who were allegedly involved in the unauthorised or unsafe excavation work that led to the collapse.
