In a shocking incident, a 45-year-old man allegedly set his relative’s home on fire over a financial dispute in Bengaluru’s Vivek Nagar area. The police said no casualties occurred in the incident.
According to a report by the TimeS of India, the accused has been identified as Subramani. A complaint was filed by Sathish, who stated that the incident took place on July 1.
The report said that Sathish was living with his three brothers and his mother, Venkataramani, in a three-storey building. One of his brother’s daughters, Parvati, had taken a loan of ₹5 lakh from Venkataramani.
When Venkataramani asked Parvati to repay the money, Parvati allegedly threatened Sathish and Venkataramani with dire consequences and warned them not to ask for the money again.
On June 30, Sathish and his brother visited Parvati’s residence to settle the dispute through discussion. The next day, early in the morning, Venkataramani called Sathish, saying that someone had set the ground floor on fire. The objects were completely gutted by the blaze.
The police have launched a probe into the matter.
