IMD Weather LIVE Updates: Heavy rain wreaked havoc in parts of central and north India on Saturday, leading to traffic woes and severe waterlogging. Among the worst-hit areas were Himachal, where cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides significantly impacted daily life. At least 69 were killed in Himachal due to rain-related incidents. According to the India Meteorological Department, red and orange alerts are in place in several states due to extremely heavy rain in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the Weather Body has predicted torrential rains in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Rajasthan. The sultry weather has caused discomfort to many, especially in Himachal’s Mandi district, as roads were blocked due to intense showers and landslides. Over the next 48 hours, heavy rains are expected to batter Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, East Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.
The Met Department said that the southwest monsoon will remain active over the western Himalayan region and the plains during the next 7 days. Residents are advised to stay cautious and take precautionary measures to protect themselves from any rain-related incidents. Moreover, keep a close watch on IMD’s latest weather bulletin and take shelter in safe places. Avoid traveling if possible, and keep away from objects that conduct electricity.
