IMD Weather LIVE Updates: Rain lashed parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) on Monday, bringing down the temperature. Meanwhile, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to batter Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, and East Rajasthan. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that due to the formation of a low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal, showers are likely at most places.
Monsoon continues to wreak havoc, especially in the hill states, leading to landslides and significant loss of lives. Amidst this, the Weather Body has sounded red and orange alerts in multiple states, urging residents to take necessary precautions while stepping out. A warning has been issued against torrential rains for the Northwest, West Coast, and Northeast India during the next 6-7 days.
Moreover, over the next 24 hours, intense rain activity will be witnessed over Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West and East Uttar Pradesh. As monsoon becomes active across the country, IMD has also predicted rainfall to lash South Interior Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe during 9th-12th, Coastal Karnataka during 7th-10th, and Telangana on 7th & 8th July.
Residents are advised to stay cautious and take precautionary measures to protect themselves from any rain-related incidents. Moreover, keep a close watch on IMD’s latest weather bulletin and take shelter in safe places. Avoid traveling if possible, and keep away from objects that conduct electricity.
