380-Km Route To Cut Travel Time To 5 Hours, Boost Connectivity And Trade In Uttar Pradesh News24 –

Under the Green Highways Policy, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is constructing a 380 km long Greenfield Expressway in Uttar Pradesh. The Ghaziabad-Kanpur Expressway will strengthen the state’s road network by connecting Noida, Ghaziabad and Kanpur. When completed, the travel time between the two major industrial cities will be reduced to about five hours.

The expressway will be 380 km long and will pass through nine districts of the state. Initially, it is being built as a four-lane road, but in future it can be expanded to six lanes in view of increasing traffic. The project is being designed in an environmentally friendly manner and is targeted to be completed by 2026.

The route will pass through Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kasganj, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Unnao and Kanpur districts.

According to media reports, the NHAI is planning to extend this expressway to Jewar Airport in Noida in the future to further improve regional connectivity. Its southern end will connect to the 62.7 km long Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway, while the northern end will connect to National Highway 9. This expressway will save about three hours of travel time from Ghaziabad to Kanpur.

This project will not only boost regional trade but will also reduce the burden on existing highways. This modern route connecting Noida, Ghaziabad and Kanpur will prove beneficial for local businesses, transport companies and daily commuters, as well as boost social and economic development in the state.
