Criminal Shot Inside Patna Hospital, Cops Probe Gang Rivalry News24 –


Challenging the law and order in broad daylight, five criminals entered Paras hospital in Patna and shot a prisoner who was out of jail on parole on medical grounds. A CCTV camera captured the shooters entering his room. The incident occurred on the morning of July 17. 

The prisoner has been identified as Chandan Mishra, a hardcore criminal named in over a dozen murder cases. Police said the attack was carried out by a rival gang.

Central range (Patna) IG Jitendra Rana said, “A criminal named Chandan Mishra, resident of Buxar district, was admitted to Paras Hospital for treatment, and members of the rival gang shot him. He is undergoing treatment…He was shot multiple times…The assailants are being identified with the help of the Buxar Police…It cannot be ruled out that the security guards of the police were involved in this incident. We will investigate this angle also…”

Chandan’s relatives created a ruckus at the hospital. 

SSP Kartikeya K Sharma said, “A criminal named Chandan Mishra, resident of Buxar district, against whom dozens of cases of murder are registered. He was transferred from Buxar to Bhagalpur jail. Chandan was on parole and admitted to Paras Hospital for treatment. The rival gang shot him. He is undergoing treatment, and with the help of the Buxar police, we are identifying the members of the rival gang. We have the photographs of the shooters.”
