Red Warning Issued For Extremely Heavy Rainfall In Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala, And Madhya Pradesh News24 –


The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted extremely heavy rainfall (≥21 cm) in many areas of the country this week. The situation may remain serious especially in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued a “Red Color Warning” for this, which is a warning of dangerous weather, but it does not mean “Red Alert”, as clarified by the department.

Very heavy rains may occur in some areas of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala on July 18. At the same time, heavy rains are expected in Rajasthan and South Interior Karnataka on July 18. Torrential rains are also forecast in Kerala on July 19 and 20.

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh of North India from July 18 to 23. Rains may remain particularly intense in Uttarakhand from July 18 and 20 to 23.

The weather will also remain active in East and Central India, where heavy rains and thunderstorms are likely in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Continuous rains are also expected in some parts of Konkan coast, Goa and Maharashtra.

Strong winds with speed of 40–50 kmph are likely in peninsular areas of South India during the next five days.
