Parliament Monsoon Session LIVE Updates: The third day of the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament began at 11 am today. Opposition parties are expected to step up their demands for a discussion on the Pahalgam terror attack and the revision of the voter rolls in Bihar. On Tuesday, continuous protests by Opposition MPs over these issues brought both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to a halt for the second consecutive day.
In the Lok Sabha, Opposition leaders entered the Well of the House at 11 am, holding placards and chanting slogans to demand the withdrawal of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Bihar. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan appealed to allow the Question Hour to proceed, but the protests continued, prompting Speaker Om Birla to adjourn the House until noon. Each time the House reconvened, similar disruptions led to further adjournments.
The Rajya Sabha faced similar scenes, with repeated uproar over the same issues. The Upper House was ultimately adjourned for the day shortly after it reconvened post-lunch at 2 pm, without transacting any business.
