Man Spots Worm In Food At Rameshwaram Cafe News24 –

A traveller at Bengaluru airport found a worm in the food at a well-known cafe outlet, according to NDTV. The incident took place on Thursday morning at the popular Rameshwaram Cafe premises at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport.

When the passenger confronted staff regarding the worm issue, the staff attempted to hide the incident. While the staff members apologized as he started to take a video of the food served to him, the report said the passenger was eventually given a full refund of Rs 300 for the food he ordered.

The Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru had made headlines for another reason last March, when an IED exploded at one of its outlets in the city, injuring many. In December 2024, a passenger at Jaipur International Airport found a cockroach in a bread pakora, raising food safety issues.

Around the same time, reports of similar situations, which included a taximan at Jaipur Airport finding a dead mouse in chocolate syrup, and an insect in a Burger King burger, were also reported. There was a huge row early this month when Sanjay Gaikwad, a Shiv Sena MLA from Buldhana, alleged that the Akashwani canteen in Mumbai was serving poor quality food.

He claimed the staff were not listening to him or taking his complaints seriously. After that, a purported video of Gaikwad allegedly slapping a canteen worker made the rounds on social media.

After the MLA’s complaints, the state’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) temporarily suspended the license of Ajanta Caterers, which managed the Akashwani canteen.

FDA officials took food samples from the Akashvani MLA canteen. Even as the controversy flared, Gaikwad refused to apologise and said that he had “no regrets” for his actions, saying that the food in the canteen was akin to poison.
