A pregnant woman was stabbed to death by her husband in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut. The husband, Ravi Shankar, killed his seven-month pregnant wife, Sapna, inside a locked room before calling the police himself.

In a harrowing incident that occurred on Saturday, August 2, a young woman named Sapna was brutally murdered by her husband, Ravi, at her sister Pinky’s marital home in Amhera. Sapna, who had been living there for the past five months due to ongoing disputes with Ravi, met a tragic end in a locked room on the first floor of the residence.According to NDTV, Sapna had married Ravi earlier this year in January but had moved to her sister’s house following continuous marital discord.

On the fateful morning, Ravi arrived at the Amhera residence requesting to speak with Sapna. He led her to a room upstairs and closed the door behind them. Shortly after, distressing shouts and screams echoed through the house, alerting those nearby. Eyewitnesses, including family members and neighbours, recounted hearing Sapna’s desperate pleas for help as Ravi allegedly attacked her with a knife.

Despite her cries, Ravi inflicted fatal stab wounds to her neck and chest area. By the time family members could reach the room, it was already locked from the inside, preventing any immediate intervention.

Police forced entry by breaking the door upon arriving at the residence. Inside, they found Ravi sitting next to his wife Sapna’s body. He was immediately taken into custody, and Sapna’s body was sent for a post-mortem examination. An FIR has been filed against Ravi.
