Missing Passenger Slapped During Panic Attack On Flight Found 800 Km Away At Assam’s Barpeta Station News24 –
Hussain Ahmed Majumdar, who went missing after being slapped by a fellow passenger while experiencing a panic attack mid-air, has reportedly been found at a railway station in Barpeta, Assam. The location is about 800 kilometers from Kolkata, where his flight had landed, and nearly 400 kilometers from Silchar, where he intended to go.
The 32-year-old Majumdar, who hails from Assam’s Cachar district, had boarded IndiGo flight 6E-138 from Mumbai to Kolkata on Thursday. He was scheduled to take a connecting flight to Silchar the following day.
While experiencing a panic attack, he was assisted by the cabin crew members, who helped escort him down the aisle when Hafijul Rahman, a fellow passenger on the plane, slapped him. A viral video of the incident showed Rahman assaulting Majumdar. When confronted, he explained that he did so because Majumdar was causing him ‘problems’.
After the plane landed in Kolkata, Rahman was detained, while Majumdar left the airport. The 32-year-old, who works at a Mumbai hotel, had flown this route multiple times before. His family was waiting at Silchar airport to receive him on Friday, but he didn’t arrive.
After failing to contact him several times and seeing the viral video, they filed a missing persons complaint. Police later found him at the Barpeta railway station. IndiGo, meanwhile, has banned Rahman from flying with the airline.
