Woman And Lover Arrested After Affair Drives Madhya Pradesh Family Of Four To Suicide News24 –

A woman and her male friend have been arrested by Madhya Pradesh police in connection with the suicide case of four people, including a mother and son and two children, in Khurai, police said.

On the intervening night of July 25 and 26, a 45-year-old man, Manohar Lodhi, his mother, and two teenagers, including a son and daughter, allegedly died by suicide by consuming a poisonous substance at their home in Madhya Pradesh, Khurai.

Lodhi’s mother and son died on the spot, while Lodhi and his daughter succumbed while undergoing treatment. Investigation revealed that Lodhi’s wife was in an alleged extramarital affair with a childhood friend. Lodhi’s mother objected to their friendship multiple times and asked her to maintain distance.

Instead of breaking friendship with her childhood friend, Lodhi’s wife threatened to frame them in a false dowry case. Police said Lodhi’s daughter also spotted her mother in a compromised position around two to three times in the past.

“The investigation revealed that the illegal relationship between Manohar’s wife and her lover is the main reason behind this suicide. Both the accused were arrested and presented in the court, from where they have been sent to jail,” Town Inspector Yogendra Singh, as quoted by NDTV. Lodhi’s wife and her male friend were sent to jail, and further probe is underway.
