Cloudbursts are often accompanied by hail and thunder, which might lead to flood-like situations. For hilltops, such immediate rainfall can cause landslides and soil erosion on mountain peaks. Uttarakhand police have reported that due to the abrupt rise in water levels in Harsil, SDRF, the army, and other units reached the spot for damage control. Beyond that, the police have issued a warning for residents against going near the brimming water bodies.
