Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Warns At Delhi’s Jantar Mantar Protest News24 –

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Wednesday addressed a public meeting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, and said that whoever opposes Rahul Gandhi’s ideology will have to suffer serious political losses. He categorically stated that no matter how big a leader or official one is, if he goes against Rahul Gandhi’s vision, his political end will begin from Telangana.

Reddy said, “Whoever it is, whether rich or in any position, if he comes against Rahul Gandhi’s command or rule, Telangana is going to write his death order. We have come here to Jantar Mantar to spread Rahul’s message across the country.”

The Telangana CM was making this statement during a protest attended by MPs and leaders of the INDIA Alliance. The protest was held to demand the Centre to grant 42% reservation to backward classes (BCs) in education, employment and politics in Telangana.

Telangana CMO Clarifies

As Reddy’s statement went viral, Telangana CMO issued clarification, stating that his comments were in the context of fighting for backwards class reservations and protecting constitutional values, not as a threat or literal statement.

Telangana CMO stated, “The Hon’ble Chief Minister, while addressing a gathering at Jantar Mantar, used a figurative political expression to emphasise Telangana’s strong resolve to defeat regressive and anti-democratic forces through democratic means. His comments were in the context of fighting for backwards class reservations and protecting constitutional values, not as a threat or literal statement.”

Highlights Of Reddy’s Speech From The Protest

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy said, “We are demanding that 42% reservation in education and employment and political reservations in local bodies. We want the President to clear the bills regarding these issues. We had sought an appointment with the President, but have not been given one.”

He also stated, “I think PM Modi and Amit Shah are pressuring the President not to give appointments to people from Telangana. Now, we all MLAs, MPs and people from rural areas have come to Delhi. We are pro-OBC, Rahul Gandhi is pro-OBC, but Narendra Modi is anti-OBC. We will see how to get this reservation. If Modi accepts it, then it’s good, else we will defeat him and make Rahul Gandhi the PM and get 42% OBC reservation.”

Revanth Reddy said the state assembly has passed two bills and repealed the 2018 law that kept the reservation below 50%. He termed it as a major hurdle in the tenure of former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR). He said the bills and ordinances have been sent to the President through the Governor but have not been approved even after four months.

He accused the central government of denying the backward classes their rights. He said the protest was being held in Delhi because the issue needed nationwide support.

He said that the entire Cabinet has sought an appointment with the President but have not received one yet.

“If we are denied an appointment with the President, and if Prime Minister Modi refuses to answer in Parliament, we will not return to Delhi. Instead, anyone from the BJP who comes to Telangana will have to answer for this. The BJP will be wiped out in Telangana,” he said.

“The next census must include a caste census. Telangana has executed this exceptionally well, which is why we call it a rare Telangana model. This model should be implemented across the entire country. Our protests will continue until the next general election. If Modi fails to act, he will be removed from power, and Rahul Gandhi will become the next Prime Minister,” the chief minister said.
