Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Forms 3-Member Panel To Probe Allegations News24 –

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday announced a 3-member panel to probe allegations against High Court judge Justice Yashwant Varma.  

The Lok Sabha Speaker said, “The members of the Committee include Justice Arvind Kumar, Supreme Court Judge, Justice Maninder Mohan Srivastava, Chief Justice Madras High Court, and BV Acharya, Senior Advocate, Karnataka High Court. The committee will submit its report as early as possible. The proposal will remain pending till the receipt of the report of the inquiry committee.”

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla accepted a motion signed by 146 MPs for impeachment of Justice Yashwant Verma. Speaker Om Birla announces a 3-member panel to probe allegations against High Court judge Justice Yashwant Varma.

On the three-member panel formed to probe allegations against Justice Yashwant Varma, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said, “The process will have to take its course. There is a certain procedure, and I don’t think one has to make any comments now. The decision has been made to constitute an impeachment committee. They’ll have to look into all the evidence and come to a conclusion.”
