Widespread Rainfall Across India!  Red Alerts For Odisha, Jharkhand, Rajasthan – Check Forecast For Other Regions News24 –


IMD Weather Update: The entire country has been reeling under heavy rainfall as the monsoon conditions intensify across several states. In view of this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued multiple alerts warning of heavy rainfall in several regions. Northern and north eastern parts of India are expected to witness significant rainfall, with a heavy rain alert in place for state like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on Friday. The monsoon trough currently passes through Suratgarh, Rohtak, Fatehgarh, Gaya, Digha and southeastwards to northeast Bay of Bengal.

Forecast For North Western & Eastern India

North western states will see increased rainfall activity until August 26, while Gujarat and Rajasthan are likely to receive showers through August 28. In the east, West Bengal and neighbouring areas will remain under the influence of a cyclonic circulation throughout the week. Jharkhand and Odisha are also set to experience rainfall on Friday. Heavy rainfall is likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during August 22 to 27, while Arunachal Pradesh is expected to receive heavy showers until August 25.

Forecast For South India: Rainfall In Kerala

The IMD has forecast isolated heavy rainfall over parts of South Peninsular India in the coming days. Coastal Karnataka and Kerala are likely to receive heavy showers between August 26 and 28, while Coastal Andhra Pradesh may experience similar conditions on August 22, 26, and 27. Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected across Tamil Nadu and Telangana on August 22 and 23. Additionally, widespread rain is likely to continue over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and interior Karnataka over the next five days.

Heavy Rainfall Alert For These States

States likely to be affected by heavy rainfall on Friday include Bihar, West Bengal, Gujarat Region, Uttarakhand, West Madhya Pradesh, and West Rajasthan. In the northeast, heavy rain is forecast for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Central and eastern regions such as Chhattisgarh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, along with Sikkim, are also expected to receive rainfall.

Moreover, red and orange alerts are in place for heavy rainfall in following states:
Red Alert: East Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha.
Orange Alert: Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal.

Weather Forecast For Delhi

Generally cloudy sky with few spells of very light to light rain/thundershowers during afternoon/evening on Friday, August 22 has been forecast for Delhi. The minimum temperatures are currently in the range of 25-27°C and maximum temperatures are in the range of 34-35°C. Additionally, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for Friday and Saturday.

 

In view of the alert in place and rainfall warning, residents are advised to stay updated with local weather alerts and take necessary precautions.
