Teacher Brutally Beaten For Opposing Alcohol Consumption In Public News24 –


A group of youths allegedly thrashed a drawing teacher in Belgharia, in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The teacher was brutally beaten for protesting against public drinking on Saturday morning.

According to PTI, the incident occurred in the Nandanagar area under Kamarhati Municipality’s Ward No. 31. The incident has sparked tension in the locality.

The victim has been identified as Nirupam Pal. As per the police complaint, Pal was returning home from a Kali Puja invitation when he saw four young men and a woman consuming alcohol on the roadside. When he asked them to stop drinking in public, the youths allegedly attacked him.

He sustained injuries on chest face and eyes, saying that he was mercilessly thrashed by the men. He also urged police to take a stern action against the accused as they might target him again.

Bihar: 8 people die in road accident involving collision between auto and Heavy Vehicle

Eight people died on Saturday morning in a road accident on the Daniyawan-Hilsa road in Shahjahanpur police station area under Daniyawan block, Bihar.

All the victims were residents of Reddy Malama village under Hilsa police station in Nalanda district. They were on their way to Fatuha for a holy dip in the Ganga at Triveni Sangam, the police informed.

According to the District Magistrate of Patna, the accident occurred around 6:45 AM due to a collision between an auto-rickshaw and a heavy vehicle (Hyva).

Eight people lost their lives in the accident, and the injured are seeking treatment at Patna Medical College Hospital.
