Karnataka Man Kills Wife, Later Inserts Explosive Device In Her Mouth; Arrested News24 –

In a shocking crime that has left Karnataka reeling, a man strangled his girlfriend after forcing a gelatin stick into her mouth and detonating it – attempting to pass off the killing as the result of a mobile phone explosion. The double murder occurred in Bherya village of Saligrama taluk, when Rakshitha, 20 years old and from Gerasanahalli village, Hunasuru taluk, was murdered by her lover Siddaraju, from Bilikere village, Piriyapattana.

Reports say that Rakshitha was married to a man from Kerala, but was having an affair with Siddaraju. The accused led her to Kappadi field before taking her to a lodge to carry out the attack. After killing Rakshitha by placing the explosive in her mouth and detonating it, Siddaraju wasted no time in yelling “mobile blast” to hotel staff. His flimsy cover story fell apart shortly after when lodge staff became suspicious, upon noticing that no mobile phone remnants were left at the site of the blast.

When staff questioned him about the whereabouts of the apparently blasted device, he said he threw it out the window. Staff searched the area but found no sign of a mobile phone.

When staff grew increasingly suspicious of the contradictory claims being made by Siddaraju, they detained the suspect and contacted police. Upon arrival, police asked further questions of Siddaraju, who confessed to the murder. A case has been opened at Saligrama Police Station, and forensic consultants are currently investigating the explosive materials used in this case.
