Network Blackout As Mobile, Broadband Services Hit News24 –


Due to heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, optical fibers were damaged in many areas, affecting the services of all network service providers. They said that teams of technical experts have been sent to investigate and repair the faults. Officials clarified that due to fiber cut in many places, call services are stalled and mobile internet has also been shut down.

Fiber and landline services of government company BSNL have also been affected by this disturbance. Due to this network problem, people faced a lot of inconvenience as there were no signals in mobile phones. Telecom companies say that this problem has arisen due to fiber cuts in many places including Jammu, Srinagar and Shimla. They also assured that every effort is being made to restore the network and services as soon as possible.

On Downdetector, several users reported internet outages for major telecom companies like Jio, Vodafone and Airtel. One user tagged the concerned authorities on X and wrote, “Unable to contact my family in Jammu and Kashmir. Out of the network area, SIM cards are not working. What is happening?”

Another person expressed hope and wrote, “It is possible that the network problem in Jammu will be fixed soon.”

At the same time, a third user expressed concern and wrote,”I have lost contact with my family in Jammu. It seems that the network has stopped working in many areas of the state. Praying for #Jammu.”
