IMD Issues Alerts For Heavy Rainfall Across India On August 31 – Check Forecast For Delhi And Other Regions News24 –


IMD Weather Update: India is reeling under the impact of intense rainfall as monsoon conditions remain active across several regions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather forecast for Sunday, August 31, predicting widespread rainfall across several parts of the country. In Northwest India, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Punjab are expected to heavy rainfall. While in west India, Maharashtra and Gujarat will see light to moderate rainfall. Moving to east and central India, states like West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh are expected to receive heavy showers.

In the Northeast, Arunachal Pradesh will continue to face heavy rainfall, while Assam, Meghalaya, and neighbouring states will be hit by thunderstorms and lightning. Meanwhile, South Peninsular India is expected to witness heavy rainfall, especially over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Telangana.

The monsoon trough currently passes through Bikaner, Ajmer, Guna, Damoh, Durg, Chandbali and towards east-southeastwards to central Bay of Bengal.

IMD Weather Forecast: Rainfall Alert In These States

The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Goa, Maharashtra, Punjab, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand and West Madhya Pradesh.

Heavy Rainfall has been predicted over Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Kerala, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Saurashtra, Kutch and Vidarbha.

Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning & gusty winds (30-40kmph) is likely to occur over Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Odisha, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Telangana.

Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand are also expected to witness rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm.

According to the IMD, active monsoon conditions are likely to prevail over Delhi during next 5 days. The sky will remain cloudy with possibility of a spell of very light to light rain/thundershowers during early hours on Sunday, August 31. The maximum temperature will remain in the range of 31-33 degree Celsius.
