FIR Against Six Students For Ragging First-Year Engineering Student In Ramgarh News24 –


Six students have been named in an FIR for allegedly ragging and thrashing a first-year engineering student in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district. 

According to a PTI report, the incident took place at Ramgarh Engineering College (REC) in Murubanda village under Rajrappa police station limits.

The first-year engineering student was thrashed by second-year student after the former lodged a complaint with the National Anti Ragging Cell (NARC).

“An FIR has been registered at Rajrappa police station against the senior students of REC under relevant sections, following a complaint filed by the victim student.” PTI quoted Ramgarh Superintendent of Police (SP) Ajay Kumar as saying.

Drug smuggler held with 3.5 kg heroin from Jalandhar

In a separate incident,  Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has apprehended a drug smuggler and recovered 3.5 kg of heroin along with Rs two lakhs of drug money from his possession, said Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Sunday.

The arrested drug smuggler has been identified as Manjit Singh, a resident of Jalandhar Enclave near Khambra, Jalandhar. The arrested accused is a habitual drug trafficker with three cases under the NDPS Act registered against him in Punjab and New Delhi.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that a case has been registered. Further investigation is underway to establish forward and backward linkages in this case to dismantle the entire network, he said.
