23-Year-Old Woman Dies By Suicide During Video Call With Boyfriend In Thane; Police Detain Accused News24 –


A 23-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide during a video call with her boyfriend in Maharashtra’s Thane district. The incident took place in the Titwal area on August 28.

According to PTI, the woman met her boyfriend on Instagram, became friends with him, and developed a relationship. Police said they have detained the woman’s boyfriend for interrogation. The woman’s family alleged that he had cheated several other girls in a similar fashion.

A police official said the accused had taken her jewellery under various pretexts. When the woman asked him to return the jewellery, he started threatening her with leaking her private videos.

The woman did not bear the harassment, and she hanged herself, the senior cop added.

The cop said the woman was cremated without an autopsy. No FIR has been registered in the case so far, he added.

Delhi Police arrest woman, two others in anti-narcotics operation

In another incident, the Delhi Police apprehended a woman from the Kalandra colony, Bhalswa dairy and recovered 300 grams of heroin from her after acting on a tip-off.

The accused has been identified as Afsana (23), a resident of Jahangirpuri.

Accordingly, a case u/s 21, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) was registered at the PS Bhslwa Dairy. The accused was later arrested.

After sustained interrogation and arrest of Afsana, in a late-night raid, Delhi Police arrested two suppliers, identified as Narender (37) and Jyoti aka Manshi (35).

A total of 712 grams of heroin were recovered from them, broken down as 52 grams, 470 grams, 170 grams and 20 grams. Sections 25 and 29 of the NDPS Act were also added in the case.
A total of 1,012 grams (1 kg and 12 grams) of Heroin was recovered in all.
