Traveling between Lucknow and Kanpur will now become much simpler and faster than before. Traffic is likely to start on the Lucknow-Kanpur Elevated Expressway from this month. A distance of about 95 km, which currently takes three hours due to heavy traffic, will be covered in just 40 minutes once this new elevated route starts.

This project is an excellent example of modern engineering and design, which will establish better connectivity between the two cities. Its opening will not only improve road safety but will also make traffic more smooth. This will save time for passengers and will also promote business, education and industrial activities.

At present, the elevated road is being prepared in the final stage in Sarojininagar, Banthra and Junabag areas. NHAI Project Director Colonel Sharad Singh said that traffic operations can be started on this route soon.

Initially, only light vehicles like bikes and cars will be allowed on this expressway. It is estimated that vehicles will be able to run at a speed of 100 kmph on this route, taking the journey from Lucknow to Kanpur to just 40 minutes.
