Delhi NCR Rains | Flood Alert! Yamuna Breaches 207-Metre Mark, Nigambodh Ghats Shut; 700+ Evacuated In Noida & Ghaziabad News24 –
The Yamuna river has crossed 207 metres at the Old Railway Bridge (ORB) on Wednesday. On September 4, 2025, at 6:00 AM, the water level at the Old Railway Bridge (ORB) was recorded at 207.48 metres. The discharge from the Hathni Kund Barrage stood at 1,48,443 cusecs, while the Wazirabad Barrage reported a discharge of 1,93,090 cusecs. At the Okhla Barrage, the discharge was even higher, reaching 2,35,550 cusecs, indicating a significant flow of water through the Yamuna.
The water of Yamuna River has reached the main road through the main gate of Monastery Market. The NDRF team has reached the spot and started preparing for rescue. NDRF has been deployed in Akshardham, Mayur Vihar, Yamuna Bazaar, ISBT area. The water has now reached ISBT Kashmiri Gate. In view of this, the road from ISBT to Tis Hazari has been closed. It is been reported that 700 plus have been evacuated due to flood alert.
Due to this rise, water is now rapidly filling the areas of Delhi. Now, the water of the Yamuna has reached inside the Nigam Bodh Ghat of the capital, which is causing interference in cremations.
