Vande Bharat Sleeper Express Train: In a major move to enhance long-distance train travel, Indian Railways is set to launch the country’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper Express. The train is likely to be introduced on the Bihar-Delhi route by October, connecting Delhi with Patna, possibly extending to Darbhanga or Sitamarhi in Bihar. It is anticipated that the announcement to run these trains would be made ahead of Diwali, Chhath Puja and the Bihar Assembly elections.

Vande Bharat Sleeper Express Train: Check Route And Features

Indian Railways has been working on the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express for the past several years, and the train is now fully ready. According to reports, the train has been designed for a comfortable journey. Passengers will get all the essential facilities along with comfort in this train. Once operational, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express trains will be valuable option for overnight journeys.

The trains are capable of reaching speeds up to 180 km/h, and has driver cabins at both ends, eliminating turnaround delays at terminals. The onboard systems include anti-collision technology, CCTV surveillance, crash-resistant coaches and LED screens for passenger information, complied with fire safety standards.

Initially, this train will run between Delhi and Patna via Prayagraj and will take 11.5 hours to complete the journey. Currently, Rajdhani and other trains running on this route take 13 to 17 hours to complete the journey.

The fast moving Vande Bharat Sleeper Express train is set to significantly reduce travel time, boosting connectivity. If the trains are launched ahead of the festivities, passengers travelling between Delhi and Bihar are going to benefit largely. Notably, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had announced the launch of the Vande Bharat Sleeper service last month.
