12-Lane Hyderabad–Machilipatnam Project Awaits Government Approval News24 –

With the rapid growth in the country’s expressway and infrastructural projects, it is moving up with a rise in tourism and in economy. The country is expected to soon get the widest expressway. The project is now in a proposed state, and the approval for the same is pending from the government.

The name of the project is Hyderabad Machilipatnam Port. For this project, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has already met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. He urged Gadkari to approve the project.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy argued that Telangana does not have a port of its own. A road is needed to transport goods from different cities of the state to the ports. Seeing the proposal of the Chief Minister of Telangana, Minister Nitin Gadkari said that he will send a team of officials to Hyderabad for the feasibility study of the project. Therefore, on September 22, officials of the National Highway Authority of India will have a review meeting with officials of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as per media reports.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy told Minister Nitin Gadkari that in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Bill, there is a provision to build an expressway to connect the capitals of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. This expressway has been proposed under the same provision. If they approve the project, then it will be the widest expressway in the country, which will also surpass the widest Delhi-Mumbai Expressway till date. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will fall short in front of this expressway of South India.

The greenfield expressway will have 12 lanes, and this will be the widest expressway. This will be constructed between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This will cross Machilipatnam and Amaravati. The length of the expressway will be 330 Km.
