Man Shoots Wife Dead in Broad Daylight, Holds Police at Gunpoint Before Arrest News24 –

A shocking incident has taken place in Gwalior, where a man shot his wife dead in broad daylight. The accused fired four bullets on her head with a country-made pistol and sat beside her dead body after the murder. A video of the incident has also surfaced.

The incident took place in front of Roop Singh Stadium on Friday afternoon, which created panic in the area and people informed the police. When the police reached the spot, the accused pointed a 315 bore pistol at them.

To control the situation, the police fired tear gas shells and arrested the accused after a lot of effort. The injured woman was rushed to the hospital, but she died during treatment.

The accused has been identified as Arvind Parihar, while the deceased has been named as Nandini Parihar. The couple were in a love marriage, but were embroiled in disputes for a long time.

CSP Nagendra Sikarwar said that the incident took place in the University police station area, when the man shot the woman in broad daylight in front of several people. The police immediately took action and arrested the accused. The motive behind the murder is not yet clear.

During the incident, the accused also tried to intimidate the police, but was overpowered using minimum force. Weapons have been recovered from the accused, and senior officers and the FSL team are investigating the case.

Fraudulent marriage and earlier attacks

Arvind, who was already married, deceived Nandini by marrying her falsely. The couple got married at the Arya Samaj temple. Nandini filed a complaint at the SP office on September 9, alleging that Arvind married her by hiding his previous marriage and children.

Nandini said that on November 16, 2024, Arvind and his friend Pooja Parihar attacked her when she opposed the marriage, and the case is still pending in court. She also said that when she was going near Sirhole police station with her son and parents, a speeding car tried to run over her. She suffered serious injuries and later filed a case against Arvind.

Harassment and threats on social media

Nandini alleged that Arvind and Puja were spreading fake obscene photos and videos of her on social media and sending them to her family. She received death threats when she protested.

Arvind had allegedly threatened to kill her if she did not return to him. He was harassing her relatives and making obscene comments on social media whenever she was seen with a man.

Attempt to kill wife, son and mother 10 months ago

Arvind, a contractor by profession, had tried to run over Nandini, her son and mother with a car about 10 months ago. At that time, the three were returning from the police station to file a case.

He drove his car backwards thrice to run them over, but a passerby stopped him and the attempt failed. Nandini was seriously injured, and her mother and son also sustained injuries. Following this, a case of attempt to murder was registered against Arvind.

Nandini’s criminal record

It also came to light that Nandini was involved in a murder case in Datia in 2017, in which she killed her boyfriend. She was arrested, spent nearly four-and-a-half years in jail and was later released on bail. This case is also now pending in court.
