In a tragic incident, at least two people were killed and several others injured after a speeding truck ran over multiple vehicles and pedestrians in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore.
According to TOI, the incident took place on Airport Road near the Bada Ganpati temple. An angry mob set the truck ablaze. Police said two people were killed, while the injured have been admitted to the hospital.
According to police officials, the truck was on its way from Kalani Road to Bada Ganpati temple when the driver lost control, ramming into several two-wheelers and four-wheelers on the road.
As per news agency PTI, the truck driver has been apprehended and is being questioned.
Rajasthan: 7 family members died after car fell into waterlogged underpass in Jaipur
In a separate incident, seven members of a family, including two children, were found dead after their car fell into a waterlogged underpass on the Ring Road in Chaksu area in Jaipur district on September 14.
Police said that the victims were returning from Haridwar after immersing ashes when the tragedy struck.
An official said a passerby spotted a car half-submerged in the underpass around 12:30 pm and immediately informed authorities. Upon receiving the information, police rushed to the spot.
Jaipur South DCP said, “At around 12.30 pm, we got information that a car had fallen into the drain near Prahladpuri. Police reached the spot and found that there were seven people in that car: three men, two women, and two children, who were returning from Haridwar. The first impression was that the car fell into the drain due to overspeeding, and all of them had died inside the car.”
