Teen Stows Away in Aircraft Wheel Well, Survives Perilous Kabul-to-Delhi Flight News24 –

A shocking incident took place on a flight from Kabul to Delhi. During this journey, a 13-year-old boy took a tough call to stow away from the flight, moving from Kabul to Delhi.

According to reports by the New Indian Express, the teen wanted to go to Iran but got on the wrong flight, which was operated by KAM Air.

The boy somehow managed to hide in the rear wheel of an Airbus A340 and landed at Delhi Airport. The teen managed to survive the entire 94-minute flight journey.

The flight left the Karzai International Airport at 8:47 AM and landed at Indira Gandhi Airport at 10:20 AM.

Hiding in an aircraft’s wheel well is extremely risky. At an altitude of 30,000 feet, there’s neither sufficient oxygen nor a favorable temperature, and the risk of being crushed by the wheels also makes survival nearly impossible. According to aviation expert Captain Mohan Ranganathan, it’s believed the boy found a confined and pressurized space in the wheel bay.
