Delhi: Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswasti, the self-styled Godman, accused of sexually harassing 17 girl students at a private management institute in Vasant Kunj, has reportedly been arrested in Agra. Police had been tracking the suspect since the students’ allegations were made. According to reports, his last known location was in Agra, which prompted a search operation in Agra and nearby areas.
Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known as Parth Sarthy, was apprehended in Agra. He had been absconding after the Delhi Police had registered a case against him under different sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused is currently under interrogation.
The statements of 32 girls were recorded, out of which 17 alleged “abusive language, obscene WhatsApp/SMS messages, and unwanted physical contact by him.” The victims were the students pursuing PGDM courses under the EWS scholarship at his private engineering institute in Delhi.
