Govt-owned Airline’s big push for affordable flying, valid even for last-minute bookings News24 –

Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu on Monday inaugurated ‘Fare se Fursat’ Fixed Airfare Scheme, an initiative by government-owned regional carrier, Alliance Air. The scheme aims to give passengers freedom from the stress of fluctuating airfares and promoting ease of flying in the country. The launch event was attended by Civil Aviation Secretary, Samir Kumar Sinha and Alliance Air Chairman Amit Kumar and Alliance Air CEO Rajarshi Sen.

Benefits of Fare se Fursat Fixed Airfare Scheme

Under the fixed airfare scheme, Alliance Air will offer a single, fixed fare that remains constant regardless of the booking date, even on the day of departure. The initiative will be first implemented on a pilot basis from October 13 to December 31, 2025 across select routes, in order to evaluate its operational feasibility and passenger response. The static fare system removes the uncertainty and stress of fluctuating airfares, offering cost predictability even for last-minute bookings.

Union Civil Aviation Minister hails the initiative

Speaking at the launch, Union Minister Naidu said, “The ‘Fare Se Fursat’ scheme perfectly aligns with the core principles of the UDAN scheme. Today, Alliance Air is carrying forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of democratising aviation and making it affordable for the middle class, lower-middle class and neo-middle class.”

The initiative is expected to encourage first-time flyers from smaller towns to opt for air travel, strengthening PM Modi’s vision of making air travel available, accessible and affordable. Naidu also shared details about his vision to make Indian aviation more passenger-centric. He mentioned how Udan Yatri Cafes offering tea for Rs 10, coffee for Rs 20 and snacks for Rs 20 at airports, are benefitting passengers.

“Since taking charge of the Ministry, my focus has been on making aviation more people-oriented. Inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision under UDAN, we have launched Udan Yatri Cafes offering tea for ₹10, coffee for ₹20 and snacks for ₹20 at airports. It is making air travel more dignified and affordable. Now we are taking a step further and addressing the major concern of passengers which is the airfare,” Naidu stated.
