Man Thrashed by Samosa Vendor Over Failed Online Transaction in MP, Smartwatch Snatched News24 –

A train passenger was thrashed by a samosa vendor at the platform of Jabalpur railway station in Madhya Pradesh. The incident took place after the passenger’s UPI payment failed, following which the vendor caught him by the collar over the issue. The passenger was forced to hand over his smartwatch, after which the vendor let him go with the samosas as the train had started moving.

A video of the incident went viral on social media, leaving netizens shocked by the vendor’s behaviour.

On the incident, West Central Railway CPRO Harshit Srivastava said, “The incident occurred on the evening of 17th October. At Jabalpur station, a vendor snatched the watch of a passenger after he made a purchase from him. Taking quick action, the Railway Administration identified the vendor and he was arrested under Railway Act and a case was registered. The license under which he worked is being cancelled. The vendor has been identified as Sandeep Gupta.”

Eyewitnesses were shocked to see the vendor’s behaviour, and a few of them filmed the incident on their mobile phones. However, nobody came forward to intervene in the matter.

Later, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) registered a case against the vendor and arrested him.

Netizens reacted to the incident and shared their thoughts on social media.

An X user wrote:” @RailMinIndia suggesting to review licences of all railway vendors ASAP…a surprise visit/check must be done at regular intervals.”

Another user posted on X, “In india you can’t depend on everything digitally, several times the UPI payments are not worked properly so you have to fill your pocket with some hard cash specially when you are travelling.”
