Deepotsav 2025: Ayodhya Glows with Diyas, Laser Show and Ram Leela Ahead of Diwali; Stunning Videos Emerge


Deepotsav 2025: Lord Rama’s abode, Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh was beautifully illuminated with shimmering lights as the city celebrated Deepotsav 2025 ahead of Diwali on Monday, October 20. The banks of the River Saryu, especially Ram ki Paidi, glowed with countless diyas and vibrant hues, creating a divine and mesmerising atmosphere. The ghat was beautifully illuminated with glowing diyas, making it a spectacular sight on Sunday, also observed as Chhoti Diwali.

Adding to the spectacle, a spectacular laser and light show accompanied the ongoing Ram Leela performance, captivating everyone present. This grand celebration ahead of Diwali highlights the rich cultural heritage and spiritual fervor of Ayodhya, making it a truly unforgettable experience for the devotees who have gathered in large numbers. Videos from the site show mesmerising visuals lighting up the banks of the River Saryu. Chants of ‘Ram Siya Ram’ echoed through Ram Ki Paidi.

Deepotsav 2025: UP CM Yogi Adityanath Joins The Celebrations

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined the grand Deepotsav celebrations. Earlier, as part of the festivities, CM Yogi performed the aarti of artists dressed as Lord Ram, Mata Sita, and Lakshman. He also pulled the symbolic chariot, or ‘Pushpak Vimaan,’ carrying the artists depicting the divine trio. The Deepotsav festivities which begin at 5 pm and will continue till 8 pm. A grand aarti ceremony, featuring 2,100 performers, is expected to set a new world record.

Speaking on the occasion of Deepotsav, CM Yogi emphasised the cultural and spiritual significance of the festival. He described it as a celebration of truth and faith.

“These lamps are not just lamps; these lamps are also symbols of the victory of faith over 500 years of darkness. These lamps are symbolic representations of the kind of humiliation we had to endure during those 500 years and the kinds of struggles our ancestors had to fight. Back then, Lord Shri Ram resided in a tent, and now, as the ninth edition of Deepotsav is being celebrated, Lord Ram resides in his grand and divine temple,” CM Yogi said.
