Diwali 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday visited INS Vikrant off the coast of Goa to celebrate Diwali with the brave personnel of the Indian Navy. During his visit, PM Modi toured the flight deck, surrounded by MiG-29K fighter jets, and witnessed an impressive Air Power Demonstration, including the take-off and landing of fighter jets on the short runway both in daylight and at night.
During his stay, PM Modi enjoyed a vibrant cultural program where naval officers and sailors performed patriotic songs, including a special composition dedicated to the Indian Armed Forces’ success in Operation Sindoor.PM Modi attended Bada Khana with the extended naval family and later joined a Yoga session on the deck the following morning.
He also witnessed a spectacular Steampast and Flypast display. Concluding his visit, PM Modi addressed the Navy personnel and personally fed them sweets, making it a memorable and heartfelt celebration. Addressing the soldiers, PM Modi said that on one side, he saw the endless sky and ocean, and on the other, the powerful INS Vikrant, symbolising strength. He compared the sunlight shining on the sea to Diwali lamps lit by the brave soldiers, calling it a special and memorable moment. “Today is an amazing day. This scene is memorable. Today, on one side, I have the ocean, and on the other, I have the strength of the brave soldiers of Mother India,” PM Modi said.
