CM Yogi Pays Tribute To Martyred Personnel News24 –


Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Monday, paid heartfelt tribute to martyred police personnel during the Police Smriti Diwas ceremony at the Reserve Police Lines in Lucknow. The Chief Minister laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial and honored three brave Uttar Pradesh Police personnel who sacrificed their lives in encounters with criminals between September 1, 2024, and August 31, 2025.

The martyrs include STF Inspector Sunil Kumar, Head Constable Durgesh Kumar Singh (Jaunpur), and Constable Saurabh Kumar (Gautam Buddh Nagar). CM Yogi also met their families and expressed gratitude for their service.

The Chief Minister said the courage and dedication of such personnel have strengthened the Uttar Pradesh Police, making it one of the world’s most capable forces. The Shaheed Smarak, he added, stands as a lasting tribute to these heroes whose sacrifice will continue to inspire generations.

The ceremony began with the parade commander saluting the Chief Minister. As a symbol of women’s power and the center of the ceremony, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Intelligence Headquarters) Abha Pandey presented the Shok Pustika to CM Yogi as its bearer. The Director General of Police shared the life stories and indomitable courage of the martyred heroes.

The Shok Pustika was placed at the Shaheed Smarak after which Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, police officers, and public representatives offered floral tributes to the martyrs. Following the parade commander’s command of ‘Shok Shastra’, two minutes of silence were observed across the ground. Thereafter, during the ‘Salami Shastra’ (Arms Salute) ceremony, the entire premises was filled with a spirit of patriotism.
